earthOCEAN designs digital solutions for a complex digital world. We create DVDs and online videos, design websites, interactive media, motion graphics and intergrate social media. We produce one-off documentary films, blogs, and international multiplatform series.

earthOCEAN produced a DVD and Video Documentary for an education program in Argentina entitled "Bringing Whales to Your School".

We have over 15 years of experience designing digital solutions for organizations such as PBS Television, Filmmakers for Conservation, NOAA, The Ocean Alliance, and The Ocean Institute.

EXPEDITION VAQUITA

Online Multimedia Documentary and Film Project.

From October – November 2008, Chris Johnson of earthOCEAN media spent 7 weeks filming in the northern Gulf of California, Mexico gaining unprecedented access to document the joint scientific expedition in search of the critically endangered Vaquita porpoise led by Instituto Nacional de Ecología (INE) in Ensenada, Mexico and NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center in La Jolla, California.

Chris was invited as a “visiting scientist” to document work on NOAA and INE's research during this critical expedition. Field video reports were published “live” to raise awareness about an animal on the edge of extinction. The project saw the first photos and video captured of Vaquita in years.

In 2009, earthOCEAN are producing a 40-minute documentary film about the science and conservation efforts of the Vaquita porpoise to distribute to television and freely on DVD to local communities in the Upper Gulf of California. It is entitled "The Search for the Desert Porpoise"
